How do I request
my personalised animation?
The work process of handcrafted animated stories takes from 5 days up to one month,
depending on the complexity of the story you want us to realise (see delivery times and packages available).
Initial Consultation: Share with us your story or memory you want us to animate. Press "Share Your Story" button to start a conversation and we will guide you through the following steps.
Storyboard and Design: We create initial sketches to define the aesthetic of the characters, backgrounds, and narrative script, based on the story and visual references provided.
Animation Production: We create the stop-motion animation 100% by hand, using various sets (multiplane cameras) designed by myself with recyclable materials.
Editing and Delivery: we add special effects, your favorite song and other sounds, then send you the final video in your preferred format.
Payments: Before we begin work on your story, we will request a 25% of deposit as concept of materials and time invested. The rest will be paid via bank transfer once the work is completed.
Packagings (optional): In addition to the animated video, we offer a frame (at an additional costs except for premium animation) that contains the cut-outs of the figures and backgrounds used in your story.

After the initial consultations with our clients and receiving the story and visual references (photos and videos), we prepare the storyboard, scenarios, special effects and design of articulated characters.

Each animation takes more than 12+ hours of manual work
Once the characters, scenarios and special effects are defined the animation process begins. I use handmade multiplane cameras designed by myself to divide the layers and create depth. Unlike digital animation, I use artesanal tools to fabricate sequence shots, transitions, animated lighting and other special effects.

After the animation is completed I carefully assemble the elements and backgrounds used for your animation. I design a frame based on the visuals of your story and ship it to your home address.

"Cuban artist with an international career, Adrián Melis combines his expertise in visual arts and filmmaking to create unique stop motion animations. Trained at the University of Arts in Havana and a former resident at the Rijksakademie van Beeldende Kunsten in Amsterdam, his work has been exhibited at institutions such as the Centre Pompidou (Paris), the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw, and the Queens Museum (NY). Inspired by Lotte Reiniger’s classic technique, Adrián transforms memories into art in motion, frame by frame, with a handmade and emotional approach."
